I have a 100gal reef tank and was wondering what i needed to test for? I know i need to test ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, and calcium but what else should i test for and how often should i test? What is a good brand of test kits to use or should i use different brands for different tests?

Thanks

I usually test before each water change on maintenance day.

The only additional "standard" test kit I would add would be phosphate - and I would strongly recommend Salifert.

API is a great test kit. They have a basic kit and a reef kit. http://aquariumpharm.com/Products/Product.aspx?ProductID=138

Additionally, as a rule if you are not testing for it....don't add it (ie., idodine, strontium)

Ok thanks i have the reef kit from API was wondering more for the other tests
What do you reefers normally dose? I am doing a 10% water change once a week, and using reef crystal if that matters.

Thanks

I try to do 10% each week. Just started using reef crystals as well.

Thanks. So i know it is off topic but what would I have to do if I want th change the salt mix I use?
