Tetra Brilliant Sponge Filter

Does anyone know where to buy these? It seems impossible to find them! I've heard good things about them and wanted to try them out

Well, when I Googled it, the first hit said "Tetra stopped making these a while ago" so I'm guessing that's why you can't find them. Hydro sponge filters are really good and some people swear by LMS sponge filters:

I myself just use the super cheap ones from Hong Kong on eBay. Google xy sponge filters and you'll see what I mean (all the model #s start with xy). It takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive, but they work great and can't beat the price.

yeah I've been using a sponge filter that is the same shape as the xy. However it seems to clog fast and that's why I'm trying to find the tetra brilliant. It sucks that it was discontinued

What you need then is a sponge filter made with reticulated foam. Google hydro sponge pro for starters Although I believe the LMS sponge filters are also made with reticulated foam.

Thanks for the info. I know this is a little late. I actually know no one who lives there though I saw one of the tetra brilliant on ebay but it was too big for what I needed.

Marina makes a sponge filter that uses sponges that are very similar if not identical to the old Brilliants.

yeah these are the ones I'm using now but I think they use different sponges because it clogs up faster.

I think I'm just looking for the old Brilliants because someone I knew used to use these for the longest time and he recommended it.
