i bought 3 ghost shrimp and 2 cherry shrimp and i think my neon tetras (i have 5) had been pestering the shrimp. now, i have 3 dead ghost shrimp, one of them completely ripped in two, and one dead cherry shrimp. i have one cherry shrimp still alive and i find him hiding a lot. anyone have same experience with tetras killing shrimp???

my ghost shrimp and cherry shrimp are 0.75 inch long. pretty small, but not much smaller than the tetras which are about the same length.

I'm keeping ghost, amano and cherry shrimp with pristellas, black skirt and cardinal tetras. No probs at all. In fact my ghost shrimp have been breeding and occassionally one or two will make it to the stage where they can look after themselves. Somehow I can't imagine neons pack hunting for ghost shrimp.

Now it could be that your shrimp have been molting and then going into hiding while they are feeling vulnerable. If it really was the shrimp that died then maybe they were a bad batch. It's possible that the neons would pick at the carcass but I don't think they were the cause of death.

i agree, i dont think the tetras did it.
mine get along fine
