Tetra Test? Yay or Nay?

I have Tetra kits for Kh and Gh which seem to be OK. As mentioned before and frequently in other threads, the API Master Test Kit is very popular and draws no complaints. One thing I learned very early: The instructions for nitrate say to shake bottle #2 before adding. I found that if you omit this step the reading will be zero. A long time ago I had a Red Sea ammonia test. It always agreed with API.

My AP doesn't have Nitrate stuff either, though it's pretty old.

Are you sure it is missing? Mine has pH, hight range pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. Big Al's online has the same thing. AP Freshwater Master Test Kit.

It would appear there are two different test kits:

AP Master Test kit
AP Freshwater Master Test kit

Even the Epinions site states that the AP Master Test Kit is missing the Nitrate test, whereas the AP Freshwater Test Kit does contain the Nitrate test. Look at the following two pix of the test kits. Perhaps one is an older version?
