?¿?~ . Tetra vs. Rena . ~?¿?

Okay, I am rather new and clueless to the entire aquarium scene. So I ask your advice on air pumps. Done all the research I'm capable of and my budget will allow one these two pumps for my 50 gallon: the Rena air 400 .or. the Tetra deep DW-96. I want them for bubble walls, and I want QUIETNESS. So quiet being the priority and power a ver close second. Which one should I go with????

Well, the majority is going to say rena. But the renas are expensive, probably the omst expensive I have seen. Try a Tetra Tec 100, cheap, quiet, and very good. I had a Tetra Tec 80 for about two years and it was great.

I have a Rena 300 on my 29 gallon... It's pretty good... I have it on the lowest capacity. However, I have to put a folded up towel under the pump because it tends to rattle and hop around, but other than that I reccomend Renas.

If you're looking for silent, you won't find it. They all say wisper silent operation, or something to that effect. I built a box lined with carpet to house my tetratec 100 and it was almost unnoticeable, but the sound travels with the airline (?) and made plenty of noise inside the tank. I stopped using it but may try it again since I have a different hood which is more soundproof. Just don't want you to be disappointed (I'll bet you will be) when the "whisper quiet" (or whatever) turns out to be less than that. good luck.
