Happy New Year everyone!

I've been on xmas vacation for a week, only returning to see that one of my Serpae Tetras have been missing. I checked the filter, the peremeter of the aquarium, behind decor etc. When I was feeding my fish, I noticed that the danios were eating something that looked like dried shrimp and eventually after checking, I found a fin of the lost tetra.

Stocking 29 gallon

6 danios
7 (8 b4) serpae tetras

ammonia 0
nitrite 0

Is this normal for tetras?

If the fish died while you were gone it is possible for other fish to eat dead fish. To them it's just like normal food.

well, yes, and no.

the fish dying didnt have anything to do with it, but the fact that they were hungry from not eating for a week probably drove them to eat it more so than they would have if they were fed everyday.
