Tetras?

I think part of the problem with neons is the fact that they are so widely captive raised for the hobby that they have lost some of the self preservation they would normally have in the wild. now wheather that is environment or genetics I can't really say though I suspect both have some play in the survival 'soft' neons we get these days

I have always put Angels which have been reared with medium Tetras (Cochus Blue Tetra) Then added Cardinal Tetras. Never Had a problem

are cardinals rare or something? i have never seen them in any lfs except for in a display not for sale tank. i really want some but don't want to order online and ship.

yay! i went to the lfs today, and found some cardinals. i got 3 to go with my 2 rasboras and 2 head n tail lights. they are so pretty, i hope they live. all my little tetras have been doing this thing lately where they swim up in the current made by the filter and then "slide" back down, pushed by the current. they do this over and over constantly. at first i thought they were just having fun, but it seems like this has gone on too long. i have a 10 gallon tank. i took the bubbler out a couple days ago when i added 4 or 5 plants, thinking the plants would use up the co2 and oxygenate the water. is it possible the tetras are swimming in the current trying to get more oxygen? shouldn't 5 plants and an over the back filter on medium speed be enough to keep a 10 gallon oxygenated for a school of tetras and an angelfish?

My white clouds have been doing that for almost 2 years now. I wouldn't worry. They are river fish and like a good current. I often find 2 white clouds flaring at each other and trying to see who can last the longest in the current. One always gets swept away and the other triumphantly swims about the tank.
