Thailand Giant Shrimp?

I have a few in one of my tanks, but they're all still small. The hatchery where I used to work raises some every summer and a friend that works there gave me around a dozen little ones to use as feeders. I split them between my 2 turtle tanks and my two aquariums. My oscar, sev, and bahia red had them gone instantly, and it took my turtles a week or two to catch all of them, but in my other tank my little Uaru of all the fish in there was the only one to eat one.

It's now been a month or so and they have doubled in size. There are at least 4 left and they are getting some really nice color on them. For now, they are pretty entertaining and keep the sand pretty clean, but when they start any real problems, they either get their own tank, or they're turtle food

Man you're lucky! I would love to have one and I just can't seem to find them anywhere! Would you be willing to let one go?

Also you have any pictures???

Someone I know claims that they got juveniles of these as feeder ghost shrimp, but they grew into a monster like the adults in the pics and ate his fish... You might be able to find them as feeders!

I've seen them sold on an Auction board from time to time... about 10 bucks a piece. They would make interesting pets if you have the setup/room.
They will kill any and all other creatures, even each other unless there are LOTS of hides.

I actually never got any pictures of mine. Next time I'm at the fish farm, I'll have to take my camera and get some pictures of theirs. Apparently someone in my tank got a sudden craving for shrimp, because all 4 of mine disappeared basically overnight. If they started causing problems for my fish, I was going to let you have them for the shipping cost. I might be able to get more in the future. I'll let you know

I am looking for a few males of this species. Searched aquabid and found nothing currently. I am an active member on monsterfishkeepers.com and a member there recommended this place. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be forever grateful.

Thanks!

PS-I look forward to participating on this forum. Currently have 20 and 30 gallon FW tanks set up for RCS, Atya and Bamboos. :)
