hi all,

i posted a bit ago about my sick betta...seems my other betta as well came down with something seemingly different...turns out probably both had sometihng wrong with their swim bladder...in addition to the fact that i probably feed them both too much.

anyways, all your great responses prompted me to figure out exactly what was wrong, and i fasted them and gave them peas...they are doing better today...just wanted to say thanks.

:)

I just wanted to let you know that I had the same sort of swimming problem with my betta when I first got him several months ago, and I bought betta food from bigalsonline and I haven't had any problems since. I've been preaching this food so much people are going to start to think I work for them or something  I made a post for this a week or so ago too, but thought I would pass that along! Good luck, glad to hear he's doing better!

I have no idea how you tell if a fish/betta is sick.....I have 2 bettas, 3 neon tetras, 1 glolight tetra, 1 white cloud, 1 prestilla tetra, and 2 male guppies

If you know how they act normally, you will easily see a difference in behavior when they are ill. I bought a new Betta last week and when I picked him out his colors were very vibrant. The drive home took about an hour and the roads around here are terribly bumpy. I guess that must have caused him alot of stress cause when we got home he hardly had any color. After a couple hours in his new home his color returned.
