Hi All

Its time for a lamp change on my 36" 250 watt MH and 4 X 39 watt T5 fixture

current lamps are 1- 250 watt Phoenix 14000k double ended and 2 coralife 10000K and 2 coralife actinic T5 lamps

The fixture is on a 46 Gal. bow front reef tank

I was thinking on changing my lamps still going for the 14000k MH , just not to sure on the T5's

I well list the MH lamps avalable to me , I am looking for opitions on What MH lamp and what T5 lamps

should i go with 50/50 T5 or 75/25 keep it like it is and so on

T5 lamps

Coralife T5 lamps 15.99 each

URI T5 lamps, Super Actinic, Actinic White, 75/25, (454 -85% Tri-band ultra blue spectrum, 15% actinic spectrum) and Aquasun. $18.99 each

Giesemann lamps , Aquablue + 60% actinic and 40% combination (15000K). Actinic + 450 nm (22000K)
Aqua pink (It brings out the blue, violet and red colours in your SPS and fish whilst enhancing coral growth.)
Pure actinic ( Peaks at 421nm) $25.00 each

Korallen-Zucht , Coral light 10000K , Coral light II 14000K , Fiji purple with blue-red spectrum. Super Blue bulb emits a 20,000k color temperature $ 28.00 each

So they are my options so anyone what to help me mix and match ?

I would stick with the Phoenix 14k for the MH, love that bulb!

As for the T5s, for me, I would go with 2 "454" bulbs and 2 KZ Fiji purple... but I tend to like more of a blue tank than a white tank. So it just depends on what your preference is.
 
Can't help much with halides as I have never used one but I do like the look of the Phoenix. Aces T5 combo would be my recommendation as well but I also like the URL Superactinic.
 
I like the Phoenix but then its the only blub i have used other then the cheap blub that came with my fixture and it made my tank look to yellow , so it looks like i well use the 454 and still not sure on the Fiji purple mostly because of price but you never know

what would be second best to fiji purple if there is one ?
