The 150: a work in progress.

Got the tank in my room. I will be buyin black sand to go over all of those ugly white rocks. Will also be adding more larger rocks to add to the hard scape. Also got a Java fern and anubias in there. Still very much a work in progress. Long way to go but it's nice o see a lil bit of something coming together.

A great beginning.

I' am willing to bet you can get some decent light penetration if you look around enough. It would likely fit 2 quad t-5s. The only problem there is any of the lower light plants near the top might get too much. There are a lot of low light options though. I have seen people use high quality stainless steel mesh or even plastic canvas and attaching some of the mosses to, like flame or Christmas moss, to create a nice low light carpet. They usually start it out in a tub until it gets a good hold and some spread to it, then trim it to fit where they want it. You have any other plans as far as plants?

Looks like a great start. I look forward to seeing updates.

My tank is 26" high, which is pretty tall. I hope you have long arms.

The black sand will settle a lot between the cracks of the stone/gravel. Especially as you do vacs....make sure you buy more than you need just to cover it up....

Liking this thread!

So I've been thinkin and I think I'm going to remove the ugly white rocks I have in there and replace them with smaller dark gravel so that if the black sand does settle it won't be so noticeable.
