The ACT is tomorrow, any tips?

i will add tho that i left no bubble blank :D
thanks you guys

Don't stress about it. You have about a year before you have to be happy with a score. I came away with some pretty bad feelings about that science section, but my composite was 33. If you get into a pre-calc or intro to calc class or similar, you'll be much better off on the math section.

:iagree: You have more chances to improve your score. The best way to improve is to get used to the actual test more than the content. Practice tests are an easy way to increase your score.

Luckily, I took the ACT in October of my junior year and got exactly what I wanted. I probably could have took it again and got a better score (my math was rusty) but I didn't see any reason to...

I took chemistry sophomore year and it really wasn't any kind of math that would require you to be an arithmetic genius. Mostly T charts for conversions and they'll show you how, very formulaic.
Looks like I'm taking both the SAT/ and ACT even though Boise state requires the score of either one and a 2.0 gpa so I don't think I'll have trouble getting into there.

I think the scholarship money is what's really going to be the most useful from those tests, they are really robbing you anyway so you might as well go through with some dignity and money left.

Oh and I know how you feel about the test I am an average math person but terrible on those tests, especially they don't even give you a minute to solve them!!!!

I would say that I'm a pretty good student always there at the top but those tests whoop my butt everytime and I hate it and feel stupid for it. I have till may to register for the ACT and at least a month more for the SAT, good luck, prove you worth in college not on those tests.

Both times I took the ACT were in my senior year. You should certainly consider retaking the test when you get to be a senior and you take the highest level of math and science classes that you are going to take.

I was in calculus at the time and still didn't do that well on the math. LMAO!

Congrats on having one under your belt. It's never a bad idea to consider retaking (just like everyone else has said) if you're really unhappy with your score. Also remember that the ACT is only one thing, out of several, that the colleges will look at. Be sure you have some good teachers lined up to give you recommendations! It's been a long time since I applied to an undergrad program (I graduated HS in 1985 - yes I'm pretty old), but I teach at a university now and we always tell our students the importance of building good relationships with the profs for those all important letters. I don't remember how that works when applying out of HS. (I teach general and organic chemistry so I have an idea of the path you'll be going - most of my students are pre-med or pre-vet). I wish you much luck in your continued studies! Lisa

We have a winner! This is often ignored but can be the make/break for a borderline applicant.

Thanks.

And you're absolutely right about the letters making or breaking borderline applicants.
