The begining of a shellie tank...

Raw, well I think I'm done messing with it...will just have to live with the little bits that are left. I'm going to clean it out good and add some water to make sure it doesn't leak and go from there. Thanks for the advice though, when I clean it out I may try it but I'm done scrapping LOL.

Woo-wooo, got the day off tomorrow, going to get some rocks and get everything set up tomorrow!!! Then meeting Blue monday for our "exchange" OMG, can't wait!!!!
 
Ok, now I need help...got rocks, sand and shells in but I think it looks off. What should I do?

I would move the rock pile more towards the middle so you could have the shells running the length of the tank. That way your shellies will occupy more area. Otherwise I like how it looks. All the same rock is a good idea, but might be alot of work( if you collected these yourself that is).I really like your substrate LG, did you mix that yourself or buy it as is? I have some pagoda rock that would really go well with that substrate.
 
I like flat rocks for building caves, and also standing up against the back glass to create more cover behind them.
 
Tighten the rocks a little more to the left and the shells a little more to the right and create an open area in the middle but hey this is your tank have fun with it..
 
Maybe if you mix the rocks and the shells. Spread the rocks out more and place the shells in and around them.

It kinda looks unnatural with the rocks on one side and the shells on the other.

Actually, you need to keep the rocks and shells separate so each species has their own space. Some shellies will end up moving the shells around and digging up the sand to create their own pit anyways. And rockdwellers appreciate just a pile of rocks with as many nooks and crannies as possible rather than all spread out.
