The best anti-fungal med?

i like ParaGuard by SeaChem (makers of Prime). The name is a bit decieving but I looked into it more and its for parasites, bacteria, fungus and viral infections. i'm using it right now for fungus and seems to be working. i also have Jungle Fungus Eliminator but i don't like it as much because you have to remove active carbon from the filter and thats not very convenient for me as i have to cut the filter cartridge open to get to the carbon. i've never really had results with it but I think its because I didn't use it long enough. I like anything thats a liquid and not a powder/granular substance like the fungus eliminator. i've used melafix too and had good results with it as well. so, to make a long post short, i like ParaGuard and Melafix haha!
I am interested in this post as well as I am battling what I believe is a fungus on one of my fishies. I am currently using the Jungle Fungus Clear. I applied the first dose last Sunday. I noticed this morning that the poor guy still has it developing on him. Debating if I should use the second dose or switch to something better. I have live plants, ghost shrimps and a mystery snail in the tank as well so these are to be considered when treating.
Pimafix and Melafix are not harmful to fish. Where did you read that at? The only thing that I've read is that Melafix shouldn't be used with labyrinth fishes.
Maracyn is not for fungus- it is an antibiotic and it is just Erythromycin. The Mardel product for fungus is called Maroxy and it is my treatment of choice for fungal problems. However, I use MethylBlue for eggs in a hatching tank.
Do more research about temps because I read fungus thrives in warmer water. Ive also learned fungus hates salt and a lower ph. I'm using melafix this week..seems to be helping a little . Good luck, I'm battling it also..Tami
