The Best powerheads

I'm not an idiot, regardles of the legth of your reply. Sorry you found it necessary to make a rough draft of a thesis to try and tell me off but I didn't post to argue, I posted to try and sift through shaddy advice becuase a fulval is not a power head. If you have a fish small enough to fit in a powerhead then you can buy a piece of foam to place over the intake, sorry for making your thread go all over Mysis, I'm done now.

telecubbyGo pound your chest some more...

BTW those fuval's are all filters, internal ones.
Fluval 1,2,3,4

Thanks

fluval has made models for years & as far as & know the canisters are 304 404 & the fluval 3 is an internal filter not a canister & works as a power head.
I dont care or know what they're current model number scheeme is ,i'm talking about the ones I have so hatever works for you ,shouldn't be so sceptacle about advice ,it's free & 4 mysis. Aquariums period conflict themselves. they aren't natural. :) cheers

Lets talk about powerheads here. I've just purchased a Mag Drive 3 to use as a powerhead on my Remora skimmer. Its what the manufacturer recomended for my 75gal tank. Although I am not seeing more output since I changed this from a Maxijet 1200. This mag drive is well over twice the size yet I would thought the collector cup would just be filling up with all kinds of waste, ha. Who out there has a Remora and what do you think of it?

Lebloom: I don't know anything about your skimmer but a mag 3 is rated for 350gph, at a 0' head. Maxi-jet 1200's are rated at 295gph, so you didn't do that big of an upgrade in pump or your skimmer, so if you didn't get that much of a difference thats probably why. I have a Euro-reef skimmer and use some model of a dolphin pump, it has a specialy made impeller to maximize the amount of bubbles entering the skimmer.

The mag pumps are alright though, I have a 9.5 as my return pump for my tank (950gph at 0' probably 850 by the time it hits my display water)
