And now, I present to you Prince, the screaming silkie

Prince kinda freaks me out, actually all birds kinda freak me out, I don't know why. They just give me the creeps. But the little baby chicks are pretty cute :)

i've kept dominiques, white leghorns, brown leghorns, buff orpingtons, white crested black polish, rhode island reds, black stars, americanas/araucanas, egyptian fayoumis, black australorps. i loved having chickens. don't tell anybody, but i think my fish hobby might be a substitute addiction because i can't have chickens.

you'll like the black stars, when i had them they would walk right up and bite my fingers if i was just standing there with my arms down. not a lot of fear.

The black stars are actually what got us into chickens. We bought 4 when I was in second grade, and we lost our last, and favorite one over the winter. I just had to have more, so thats how I started the order, then I did a search on friendly chickens, put in the wyandottes for that and their hardiness, the cochins for their looks, the NN's to freak out my horse trainer(she is deathly afraid of chickens), then the assortment for a surprise.

what do you plan on doing with them all?
The chicks are for pets, eggs, and possibly showing next year. The silkies are for showing this year. The female is so sweet, she just sits quietly in your lap while you pet her.

im not sure what mine are, there not even that friendly, but the thought of being without them hurts. where did u get the araucanas, wataugachicken

The first thing I saw when I woke up was my golden turken, that was scary :D

More pics of my chickens at their new home, and testing out mealworms:
