The elusive male peacock gudgeon!!

ok..been looking for about 2 years to find a male Peacock Gudgeon ..walked in to my favorite LFS and glanced threw the tanks..they got a new shipment of Gudgeons in and guess what was sitting up front glaring at me threw the tank!!! a monster side angry boy!!!!!!

got him and a lovely girl with him soooo excited!!!

more pics to come when they settle in to the QT tank.

me too...around here they are hard to come by..he is a little thin but I will fatten him up! working on the planted 10g they will be spending there life in just the two of them!! ^_^
 
Beautiful fish. I had a bunch of baby peacock gudgeons just before I had to get out of the hobby for a while. My mom rented my little house furnished for a bit, and the new tenants took care of the 10g they were in, but sadly all the fish died off slowly within a few months. I had some nice plants in that tank too... ah well.
I hope you have good luck with your pair, and get lots of nice babies!!

been in love with them sens i got my first female for free...been looking for a male for a long time..don't know if they are this hard to fine in other areas but its next to impossible around here..this was a fluke in a shipment of females.

I don't recall ever seeing them for sale around here. :(
 
They like PVC pipe!

yeah I plan on adding PVC in to the planted tank they will be going in to..maybe hiding it a bit with the plants.

awww :( that is sad they are really awesome little fish!...i will be trying to breed them ;)
