Texas is becoming one (I think it's the largest right now) producer of wind power. We've got a farm offshore of Corpus and Galveston.

That's not true anymore. The new designs with their larger slower moving blades don't cause that many bird deaths. They move slow enough for the birds to dodge them easily. Birds are more likely to be killed by cars, trucks, feral cats, or by colliding with building windows.

Those are so cool , was watching a tv show a couple days ago where they were setting them up in the ocean. Man they are frickin HUGE !!!!!

I really wanted a windmill at my house, but there is not enough sustained winds in this area to make it worthwhile. I'll be looking for a windy place for my next house though! hehe

Ugly. Wind farms are so hideous, as are solar farms.

Great intent, but technology isn't quite ready to do it gracefully at a large scale.

They have some huge wind farms out in CA. Pretty impressive to seem them all working.

Yup, we have Wind farms around the Palm Springs area, they are impressive. They are easily 10-15 times denser than this farm and with a good camera, you could easily capture 500 of them at once.
