Is it just me or has AC been "dumbed down" as of late? Maybe it's just me, but it seems as though it's all games and BS GCC posts lately.

Special note: please quit the spam posting. If you have nothing of value to add, add nothing. There are people looking for actual advice. I'll not name names, but everyone knows the few that I refer to.

Anyone know of any good forums? Maybe something that's age regulated. I'm sadly growing ill with AC because of the way it's gone.
 
I don't want to jump on a bandwagon here, but I have to agree. There are people I do socialize with here, but going through the threads there seem to be a lot of posts that just seem to be to raise their post counts. And, I have no clue why people would waste the time just to raise their post count, it's not like there is a prize. Not to add a topic to this but replies of just a word or two that agrees with the posts 5 or 6 people above you all made is a worthless post. IMO

I think the number of questions etc has gone down, but I don't think that that's what AC has become exclusively.

I AGREEEEEEEEEEE. Post count is not important! I do sometimes comment in threads after things have been gone over just so that the person gets the benefit of several people concurring on their issue, but what these people are doing is NOT THAT. Googling a person's question on the fly is not the same as research and reading or just agreeing with a member that have a good chance of being right.

On the other hand, it's not enough for me to leave ac.

Honestly, what can/should you do about it. It's the internet... There's gonna be all types any where you go. Yeah, some people seem to relish in posting uselessly, but thats hardly specific to AC. Idiots abound... Best get used to it :grinyes:

lol, did you start raging? Ask yourself some questions. Why are you a member of AC? What are you looking for from the/any forum? Forums grow and change all the time....maybe this poo post storm will blow over.
 
I can see your point HN. It's often annoying to have to sort through many threads that are just silly or uninteresting to me. But I also agree with Inca. There will be an amount of that anywhere you go on the internet (and seemingly in person).

I for one look forward to your posts and have learned a lot from your insight and experience. I hope you can look past the silliness and continue to add to the integrity of this forum.
 
There will always be a flux on any site of new people to the hobby. On AC we have a lot of young and eager kids who for the most part trying to give back. any site you have people who post to post. with out being in their heads it hard to know why anyone is posting but i truly believe after all my years on AC and on forums most people are just trying to help another one out. they got a lot from the sites they know how it feels to be new and lost. i know for my self i am finding less and less threads to post in since so many are already answered. now its just little things to add to it. i find this a great thing. it means more people are learning.

As for the GCC its what you make it. its pretty much open ended. a place to have fun be it games rating news personal updates or what ever.....
 
Completly agree with Inka and MGamer....

What people have to appreciate is that when your on a forum as large as AC, near enough most questions are already answered, and people will just add their 2 pence worth when they have searched for an issue and found a thread...I am on a few forums, and AC is exactly the same as the rest, posting mannerism wise...

What can you do about it?? Absolutly nothing, its called freedom to post.

I dont believe AC is all games and GCC...BUT, the off topic area is a vital part of any community...its a place for people to have a laugh, learn what other people are about, get introduced to other people....take that away from "a" forum, and i believe you loose a lot of ability to relax and chat about other things....

If you dont believe AC fits your needs, then am sure there are loads of age limited forums available on the net....AC is all about covering ALL our needs of a forum, not just dedicated to fish...
