The Oto Journal

The males are smaller and have a more streamlined body. Females are larger and their bellies are big and round. If you go back and look at the first page of this thread, it will have a side by side comparison. I know I've got one in here somewhere as well showing a belly view with mom and pop oto beside each other.
 
Update 02-Nov-2010

Went down for a quick check of the tanks. All doing very well. Little fry guys all over the holding tank. The older fry have started to color up.

Walked over to get a glimpse of the main tank. Boy was I shocked. There weren't any eggs but there was activity. Needless to say didn't have the camera, but I did have my phone. Let's how this video turned out:

I would have to say that my estimate of 30 fry is a little shy. All I can say is wow!

My thoughts exactly. Reminded me of roaches coming out of the woodworks when I saw them all yesterday. They must be too big to hide out in the Subwassertang now. ;)

The mesh is my plant ledge. One the front side is the wall of some majorly overgrown Subwassertang (again). Just trimmed it like a month ago. On top is E. Angustifolia.
 
I just read this whole thing and just like everyone else, I'm in awe! Such an amazing process. You've done a fantastic job :)

I do hope you're posting your progress in many other areas online. I've heard these guys are so hard to breed. Clearly..not for you ;)
