The perfect fish only tank setup for starter

Oh, and an ACF is an African Clawed Frog, but I don't know much of anything about them, except they grow larger and more aggressive than an ADF but are often mistakenly sold as ADFs.
They're far more adept at hunting their prey than the ADF.:)

I know soilmaster select is used widely in planted tanks and useful, but today i had a look at poolfilter sand, and its not as white as i expected - so im sold on it almost. Have to do some testing on it for few days to make sure im ok with it. I also need to physically check it out because there are lot of comments on the net that some of the silica sand could be sharp edged, even though we can not easily feel it (the fish can feel).

By the way, i was seriously looking into TMS, lucy. I like darker substrate and it was one my prime candidates. But i ruled it out after i found out that its not smooth. The corys will do fine, but their barbels may be shorter. They will play in the sand, but i dont like the idea that even the smallest amount of tear on their skin. In fact, people have kept corys (and even rays and sharks which are more sensitive) in all kinds of sand. The fish being happy depends on a lot of factors, and i like to maximize their chance of being happy. So i dumped the idea of TMS. Caribsea does not recommend it for burrowers.
