The petition to save Rocky!

I can understand that Petluvr....but...this is a fish, not a human being....for me, there is a very big different in petitioning for a person to be removed from office, than to keep a fish alive...( and yes, believe it or not, i am very passionate about fish, but, i do see a devide between humans and fish )
Absolutely I agree there is a difference between feelings people have ofr other people and feelings people have for their pets but come on the dude has had it for ten years, there has to be some type of emotional connection there. Someone also made the point that should we watch everything we buy because it "may" become illegal. I would be a little upset if for some reason cories were maade illegal and I had to get rid of mine. What if the UK decided to ban guppies now wouldn't you be upset;)

LOLOL...i would move to outside of the UK....NOTHING...i say NOTHING will keep me away from my lovely guppies....mwahhahahhahahaa a a a

@Donkey: It all has to do with what's important to you. This fish is important to this guy, and we all think that if something is important to you and it hurts no one, there's no reason it should be taken away.

@People wondering: If there's a lot of signatures in this petition (which basically says he should be allowed to keep his fish).

I understand that completely. If this petition is in fact simple asking for this mans ability to simple keep the fish(and of course reverse the charges) then i am all for it. I did not see anything that indicated that him keeping the fish was the objective, but if thats the case, consider my signature on the paper. I say Nuts to anyone who thinks they have the right to tell me what i can/cannot keep in my aquarium. or home for that matter.

I could understand public outcry if he had a caimen or crocodile in a pond in his backyard... or a tiger in a NYC apartment... (click that for a link to the article)

but this is a well cared for fish in a tank in a house. (and those making the bent spine comments, go look at other pics of Rocky. That was just his position in that photograph that made him appear to be injured.)

Very proud and happy to read all these posts here and thanks for all the support your giving to Chris and Rocky... you guys and girls are awesome.....

problem is that this fish was already killed, he was frozen a week or 2. :(

kinda hard to bring back a dead fish.

No he wasn't, Rocky is still alive and kicking. There were too many people outside when they came to kill him so they left, but the fight is not over. They still want to come back and do the job. Rocky's owner made an account on MFK and is keeping everyone posted on the thread there. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220909&highlight=rocky

@Donkey: Yeah, that's the basic idea behind it. We're not trying to go crazy and change laws, we just think he should be able to keep his fish. Get "grandfathered" in.
