I can't imagine gravel messing up things too much. There is a slight chance that you covered some formerly aerobic bacteria into anaerobic conditions, but I imagine that would be slight, and I also imagine the nitrite converters would be harder hit for some reason...

Adding BIO-Spira will probably do it, but then again I think you're very close. It's your call there.
 
i just came back from the store (they were almost closing, so i had to hurry up). I bought Bio-spira. I didnt have to pay anything because I had credit at the store :D I'm going to add it to then tank. Hopefully it will help.
 
Don't panic, 6.4 isn't terrible. Do a 50%-75% water change, remember to dechlorinate. After you change the water, replenish your ammonia dose. Turn your filters off while you change water, although it's fairly intuitive since the water level will be so low that the filter will be struggling.
