That would actually depend on the amount of dissolved solids already in solution in a given water source. That is, for example, hard water will be able to dissolved less synthetic salt compared to RO/DI water or just softer water. There is a limit to the solubility of everything in water. Also, some salts will vary in their solubility, given the same water source.
