i threw 8 japanese trapdoor snails in a 29 gal tank with a chinese algea eater and i cannot believe the funk in that tank.. i have smelled amonia in tanks before but this thing almost smells like
diesel fuel. is this why J.T.D snails are sold for ponds more than aquariums? i will try to get it planted this weekend so if it is something like amonia, the plants should get a kick out of it.
they are all moving so its not a rotting snail making the odor and the fish seem fine.
