Dig it, Using the sophsticated device called "the internet" and a computerized component knows as a "webcam", together with complex "software", I have put my planted tank on the internet in real time.

like the layout? Yeah, it is a little hard to tell... I need a longer USB cable to get the camera closer to the tank.. and yes, those halogen bulbsare hotter than :devil:
 
wierd, seems to work for a lot of other people.. might have been downloading some, uh, aquarium-realted material and using up all the bandwidth.
 
Something's not working - I get the grey box, but the page says 'done' at the bottom. When I move the mouse over the centre box something quickly pops up and goes away, looks like Java, and the last two words are 'not found' (can't read the rest, it goes away too quickly).

Funky. never seen that one. Most of the people who've successfully brought it up were either on macs or highend servers (nerd friends).. mebbe the applet is nerd-only or something.

found some info that points to users of IE5/6 or those without the more recent java update (windows ony) will not be able to view the applet:

"we have found that older Microsoft VMs do not correctly support some of the Java features we are using in the new applet. The solution to this problem is to have your viewers install the latest Java software from Sun, which you can download here:

if that doesn't fix it, you might want to try a non-windows browser. Firefox or Opera are way better browsers.

or don't bother.. it's just an aquarium webcam! :p
 
works just fine for me, and I am far from a computer nerd.
