theres a huge wasp

Males stay in the nest at all times and don't sting at all. Worker bees are infertile females so they cant make babies and are the only ones who sting. Queens are the only ones who are fertile but they never leave the nest. The reason why only female workers sting is that the stinger is a modified organ for laying eggs, but since the workers can't lay eggs, they sting instead. And also, once they sting, they die because the venom sack is attached to their guts so they disembowel themselves. :)

thats gotta hurt!

I once had a wasp come into my apartment two summers ago and fly in under the burners on my stove (must've thought it was his nest). I'm scared of wasps and bees, so what did i do? stuck 4 dinner plates upside down on top of the burners and left them like that for 2 days. the first day i heard him buzzing around, mad as can be. the second day all was quiet, so i took one element apart and found him dead, thank goodness! he was huge! had to be well over an inch in the body. that would've hurt had he stung me.

I also remember when some bees set up home underneath the clothes dryer in my dad's basement years ago. Would you believe "spray & wash" kills them? yep, starches them from the outside in. lol.
