There's life after staghorn

Well it's been almost 2 weeks since I cleared out the staghorn stuff. At last, it's not growing back . I actually increased my trace doses and the plants just exploded into life. My frill plant has doubled in size within a week! I'm now able to sit back and admire my little bit of nature although there's still a lot of growing needs to be done in the background. My aquascaping is also a bit sucky but all I'm trying to do is grow healthy plants and keep healthy fish.

how did you go about removing the staghorn? do you have any pics when the tank was infected with it?

The main problem was the substrate. I was aware of the algae getting onto the lower leaves of my plants and on the driftwood, and I always kept on top of this. It just seemed to be an ongoing process that was slowly getting the better of me. One day I looked at the substrate at eye level and it was covered. I'd never noticed this before pressumably because I'm always looking down at the substrate. Staghorn is fairly well comouflaged in eco complete.

I removed all infected gravel, plants, wood and rocks and gave it the bleach treatment at a 1:19 ratio. The process was done over a period of three days. All my plants have recovered except the anacharis which turned white and lost all their leaves.
