That's giving folks way too much credit. Many, if not most of these odd named zoanthids have been in the hobby for years. People simply started following a general trend and began naming them. If anything, it definitely skyrockets prices. I remember when "rare" Acanthastrea were simply called assorted "meat" coral. They were cheap and didn't really look any worse or better than they do now. But as soon as someone realized that they could make money, one of these trends started. I personally don't like to support trends. I like the corals very much and would love to have most of them, but I don't like what has been made of them in recent years.
Well then i guess i learn something new everyday.
Its just like picasso clown fish, they used to be considered mutations and unattractive to people when they were first viewed, then out of nowhere people started to think differently and now they are pricey as ever...(but i love them)
I prefer my naturally-colored morphs, but there's an appreciation there for others. I just don't like them as much. Not enough shell out that kind of cash, anyway.
Well I fragged my Sunny-D's for you today.. Since I didn't see those on your list I guess you didn't want them? LOL. j/k. I bought 2 polyps for $30 back in May and got 4 frags for a total of 18 polyps today, a 6, 5, 4, and 3 polyp frag.
