My cories are spawning AGAIN! These are the same ones that spawned on Sunday the 14th. None of the eggs from that hatched :( I am doing it different this time. I saw that they laid a ton of eggs on a green crypt wendtii that I had just added to the tank last night. That is the only change that has occurred recently; I added 3 new plants. The only one I see with eggs on it is the wendtii--something to consider anyway. They are also laying eggs on the glass and other places as before. I am doing the eggs differently this time. I put the whole plant into my breeding net. I suspect that my pleco sucked a lot of the eggs through the netting last time. The eggs just kept disappearing until there were none left!

Hopefully, by putting the whole plant in the net;
1. I haven't disturbed the eggs by scraping them off the glass, etc.
2. The pleco and platies can't reach the eggs through the netting to suck them out if that's what happened before.

I did scrape some off the glass with a razor blade and added them to the net, but I expect they will disappear like before. I'll update you all as time goes on--I need to add this to my fish calendar/journal to track it--again!

P.S. Patriot by betta in the same tank is still sickly, I have been giving him epsom salt soaks for 10-15 minutes. If it is constipation as I think, hopefully it will all come out in the end

All five of my females where holding eggs yesterday...those two males were going crazy...poor over worked sex machines. Must have been because of that storm we had on Wed.

Isn't it crazy though? Every once in a while all three cories just kind of collapse on the bottom and rest there, panting, then they are back at it again.

lucky.. ive had no luck with any of mine so far... hopefully they will enjoy their new 55g...

have you thought of putting the plants in a breeder box to keep them from getting nomed on

Yes, I plunked the whole plant, basket and all into the breeder box. I can't let a pleco outsmart me twice, can I ;)
