I fed my 55 this morning, and sat down to watch my loaches tussle over food for a few minutes before going out ot feed the rest of my critters.

And I heard them click!!

They were playing with the earthworm pellets, and after a bit i realized i was hearing clicking. It sounded like something hitting the glass, except they weren't touching the glass. :headbang2:

So apparently I 1) found a food they really like and/or 2) finally made them real happy.

:D :grinyes::grinyes::headbang2:

Cute! Food worth fighting or at least clicking over.
I used to hear my clowns click at night, it sounded like the glass cracking. I had to warn overnight guests "it's ok, it's just the fish". I don't hear it as much with smaller loaches.

good job! mine used to click a lot for fresh veggies till i had to give them away.

:D I am so stoked. I've never heard it before. But its REAL quiet (they are only 2-3" b. dario, so they're just little) so that might be why.

And glass cracking is a good description too :)

I was expecting it to be more like the click a person can make with their tongue ( like horse people do- clucking)

-does a little happy dance-

Very cool. I freaked and checked the entire tank with a magnifying glass the first time mine did that. I was sure the tank was a goner. lol

The first time I heard that sound was when my yo-yos were eating an algae wafer. I had heard that they clicked, but I never really thought that mine would do it! And they would only click when they ate algae wafers. Not when they were eating shrimp pellets or blood worms or earthworms... kinda weird.

hehehe that would be sweet lupin.

By the way, you could try hard foods. They usually click louder when you feed them tablet foods.:) They also click when they squabble among themselves.
