They're breeding already!

The eggs will be from the ramshorns- Malaysian's give live birth.
Pretty much my only source of baby ramshorns and bladder snails is from the HOB filter- and those layed above the water line where splatter from the sponge filter's air uptake keep the eggs continually wet. Any eggs layed in the tank get eaten by shrimp.
Now you've managed to get them to breed the next question will be- how do I stop them breeding! LOL
It's healthy to have snails though- every tank should have them.

My clown loaches are the snail bouncers lol
whenever I see some fatty snails off the glass they go and into the loach tank they cease to exist :cry:
I feel a little guilty doing it tbh...but that's what the food chain is for I guess lol

I'll keep a close eye on those guys...it's cool how they burrow under the substrate too...I bet they're cleaning like crazy under there
scares me a little too that should I happen to clean the substrate and hear a "crunch" it will be too late by then

I don't have many MTS but I have tonnes of their cousins Quilted Melania.
They tend to be most active at "dawn" and "dusk" in my tank- when I have the timer set to gradually turn lights on and off..
It's absolutely incredible how many of them there are- I may only see 4 or 5 with the lights on... I sold most of mine on here less than a month ago and already I have countless little ones all over the place as soon as the "sun begins to go down".
It's a huge advantage being a livebearing snail in a tank full of egg-eaters. Not only that but because they have extra tough shells fewer predators want to eat them.
Interestingly enough- before I added fish- they were completely diurnal- they only started hiding during the day when fish were about.
