thickness of acrylic for sump

thanks so much everyone for the replies! it makes me feel a lot more comfortable going with 1/4", tho it sounds like even with baffles as support you do need bracing as well..? that's no problem, adding braces doesn't seem like to big a deal... i will check to see what type of sealant/cement is used in the sump that i am looking at and let you all know so you can tell me if it's any good :) thanks again!
they use a special acrylic cementfor acrylic(I guess if you think about it it actually melt/welds)
As mentioned 1/4" is fine with proper bracing.

now im totally up in the air if im going to go acrylic or just buy a 29 gallon and get some glass cut for the baffles...??? but if i go acrylic i'll make sure to go with weld-on adhesive to bond the acrylic... and thanks everyone looks like 1/4" would be fine *with braces*... this sump/refugium building is a lot of headache already!!! i know what i want as far as design goes so that a plus (thanks to clown-lover for a great link!)

Well either would be fine I think. Acrylic is just more resistant to shock than glass. Your welcome for the linky Melev's is a WONDERFUL site and has much more than just sumps. Wish you the best salty...

Peace - - Mark
