good one death pony
Well thanks everyone for posting up stuff, I love the metal bowl and the plants.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Thought it was time to post up a string of pics for the thread.
Since I am redoing our house it was time to break out the boxes of stuff I have had laying around and put some of the stuff on display and move some of the stuff off the top shelf to a display shelf, so some of the pics of the stuff are a wee bit dusty.
first a gratuitous picture of my hawk hanging out on her chair
I absolutely love old books, so here are a few from my collection
Queen Victoria from the 1500's
Nothing better to get a view of ancient times than from someone who lived in them
A little gem picked up for $2.50 dude had no idea what he had.
A book I picked up for my daughter josepha.
What good is vintage vinyl if you don't have the right machine to play it on!!!
Some of my 400 or so vinyl discs from 78-45-33, I have a huge assortment of stuff. I love to be able to show my kids what used to be. They were totally blown out of the water when I showed them this stuff as I unpacked it.
A few more of my dolls. I will have to unpack all of my dolls and stuffed animals and take a group shot of them.
Yup it still works , though the cord is super brittle.
Just some of my toys. I totally love the last music box thing as it has always been my top favourite disney ride and song.
I was totally blown away when I found this nugget in one of the boxes we unpacked, I had counted it as lost yet, one of the boxes contained my mementos of catering events past. This was was a top honour for me one of my feathers in my cap shall we say. They approached me to do their entire retinue of foodservices while the team was in regina. I like to say be passionate and love what you do or change what you do, for what good is what you do if you don't love it!
This next few pictures represent 2 things I love coming together, was fantastic to see happen.
This is spike and my daughter Josepha. When we got spike just over a year and half ago, we rescued him from what can only be called a backyard puppymill breeder. She brought up 3 dogs from Georgia at a cost of $5,000.00, and by the time the females were 3 years old they had each had 3 litters (if I have the time right). So now that she had finished making her money from them, the parents became a hassle. She actually said spike was so ugly that she was gonna put him down. We were able to get both spike and one of the females for $300. The female nala, a powder puff had one litter at our house then we sent her to live with my wife's cousin who fell in love with her when she groomed her. One of the puppies went to the origional owners cousin in calgary alberta, and we gave patch the female powder puff baby to my wife's sister. I kept spike, spot (hairless boy) and hawk (hairless female-spayed).
What is so fantastic about this happening is that from the time we got spike for my daughter, she has been trying so much to love on him but he has been distant. He spent all his free time being kenneled at his last home, so far as I understand being let out to breed. On the ride home from getting him he dropped to the firewall of the truck and cowered. He would not let my daughter or I get close to him. She was totally let down when he would not come near her when we got home he would not even move from the firewall after we got home and even bared his teeth at me when I tried to touch him to give him some reassurance. My daughter went into the house somewhat dismayed that we might have to give him back, and I spent the next half hour trying to get him to feel comfortable. Then I got an idea.
The lady we got him from had put his kennel in the bed of the truck. I went and got his blanket from the kennel put it on the passenger seat and laid across the seat with my head on his blanket, and his eyes lit up. It took me about 5 minutes from there to get a lead on him and he jumped out of the truck, and he came with me in the house.
For his first few months he was like this with me only an no one else.
when we got nala a few months later I let my daughter hold her all the way home
and when josepha walked in the door holding her, spikes shell broke open
my daughter was loving it but still spike was distant until this last 2 weeks or so he has totally warmed up to her.
Well I figure this post is long enough will pop back in a bit, yall have a great day and SPREAD THE LOVE!!!!!
