I am think about building a stand that is on wheels. Of course I will hide the wheels. But has any one else done this?

Yeah, for anything over 20g I see this being a bad idea. It would be wicked top heavy and you'd be putting all that weight on just a few points, 4,6, maybe 8 wheels.

It definitely can be done. There is a very wide variety of wheel available to support any tank any size if enough wheels are used. however, with that being observed, I am going to copy cat what the others have said. Putting wheels on a tanks of any size is a bad idea. You are asking for trouble. Accidents happens and when it does happen to multiple gallons of water it will be disastrous. For you, your home, and the fish involved.
The reason I bring this up to move my tank to a different room the tank would be a 55g and a 45g. I would leave the tanks put once I got them there. But I was just looking for some opinions on what I can do. Or how would I go about moving a tank.
Wouldn't you, in effect, have to move the tanks to put them on the stand after it's built?
There's only one way to move tanks that size: Put all the fish in a bucket and drain all the water out. If you had to do this to put in on the stand with wheels, why not just carry it to the next room? Just my thoughts.

I have these furniture moving disks on the bottom of my tanks, there like small upside down frizbees that stick to the botom of cabnets and etc. I have Moved a 55 half full with these with a buddy.. i have eight 6 inch round disks on my 55 there cheap and easy to toss under the stand..
I put those on my 55g but it does not slide due to weight of the tank, but they dont work great on hard wood floors with out the wood floor wool covers.
