This a Good Light?

Just wondering if anyone has ever had this light. Also is this a good one for a 29g? Which bulbs do you recommend?

not really just a basic t8. i would at least go with a t5 fixture if not a t5ho or cf.

Do you HAVE to have a special light for planted tanks? I have heard that a regular fluorescent will do okay for less finicky plants, is that true?

not always. in smaller tanks you can also do clf bulbs which is cheap and easy.

it really just depends on what kind of setup you are intending to do. That particular one in the link will probably be fine in a 29g for most low light plants. For the cost, though, you could probably get a higher output light setup.

For what that costs,I would go ahead and get a dual T-5 fixture.I grow everything under one Giesemann Aquaflora T-5,and one Giesemann 10k T-5.These are on the pricey side.In other brands look for 10,000k,and 6500k.Thats what works for me.Good luck...
