Hi all,

Well i was doing a w/c and I noticed that my platys have had fry. So i thought to myself: 'right im going to get them this time!' (i had been trying for weeks) so i was stood there for about 40 minutes and i caught nothing. As my title suggests, this is getiing really frustrating. Can anyone give me a couple of tips?

Thanksabunch

Try moveing stuff around....... It may reck your setup, but at least you could catch the fish. Also, try useing a bigger net with smaller holes.

Hi,

I would suggest when the female looks like she is gonna give birth again, move her into a seperate tank or a baby net.

This is the easiest. Put some Wisteria in your tank, let it float at the top. They fry will congregate there, because they can easily escape predation. I have no problem catching my fry.

Hi,

Baby nets are only like six bucks or cheaper.

In the small rearing tank that I have got. And I cant put floating plants in because the water is always moving, I also couldnt do the net because of the shape of my tank.
Thnx for the replies tho.

Thnx

Use a small diameter siphon hose. Set it so it is ready but pinch it off for no flow. As you get the other end near the frym release and let them get drawn in. Works for me.
