I came home today and my male brig had kinky antennas. You know how a cats whiskers look if they get too close to a candle? They seem to be straightening out somewhat but are still curly. Also he has a spot that kinda looks like a white crack in his shell. Does that mean not enough calcium? He eats anything I put in there, green beans, algae wafers, bottom feeder pellets and flake. I am worried, am I doing something wrong?

uh, have you been lighting candles near your tank?

(sorry, i HAD to!)

I'm not sure what the antennae thing is about, do you have any pictures of the white spot?

Curling is ok. Mine do it all the time, usually right after a nap is when they are the most curly for me. Once they go into scavenge mode they usually get pretty long and straight.

Sometime when you get older things start to droop. They don't stand up straight like they used to. It happens to a lot of "ahem" snails and there multiple causes for it. ;)

I does kind of look like it got injured on something or by someone. They do kind of look like worms..."ahem".....

LMAO at V! My female betta (now isolated) managed to grab one brig's antennae and the antennae still looks curled but it has been fine so far. Even if it loses an antennae, it can still regenerate it again. Jacki, I'd add at least a cuttlefish bone or Caltrate (without Vitamin D).

My Mature snails also have curled antennas from time to time. Doesn't seem to bother them or to be anything out of the ordinary for the snails.

never seen the curl but what is your ph that also affects the shell?

My PH is 7.8. How do I use the tums. They didn't like the cuttlebone.

Don't use the flavored Tums. Mine wouldn't touch that stuff. Haven't tried the non-flavored variety yet.

Lupin,

How often do you use the Tums tablet, and how many snails per tablet fed?
