This is why not all snakes are bad snakes.

In this case the Inidgo is immune to the Rattler's bite. It had no chance against a hungry Indigo Snake that over powers it's victims instead of constricting them. Sucks to get eaten alive!

You know what's even more fascinating? Rattlers are not immune to their own venom! That's why if 2 rattlers get in a fight, they don't bite each other. Other snakes like King and Milk snakes are also immune to Rattler venom.

wow.. so if i drink kingsnake blood, will i become immune? :D

i keed.

thats cool though.. had no idea.

no snake is a bad snake, they all just follow their instincts :D

neat! as long as the snake heads off in the other direction after finishing off the rattler and not toward the photographer :p

I know, it probably wouldn't eat something as big as a hooman (or would it?) but if I saw an Indigo polish off a rattler I'd feel no shame backin off "It's cool man, it's cool, water heater's all yours"

Lol, I was just wondering before I read all the way through the head how the venom when digested would not affect the indigo. Guess I wasn't the only one.

Great series of shots. Saw a 10ft snake in my backyard back 6-8 years ago, I just went the other way, also saw a 80lb snapper the same day. I guess it was just the day for giants.

GEE HOW COME NO ONE FEELS SORRY FOR THE RATTLER

a little harsh...i think he uses caps because its easier for him to read. and as long as caps are as easy to read as lower case i don't think it should be enough of a problem to complain about it like that
