I'm glad justice was served and I hope all of us will keep an eye out for such blatant disregard for our natural ecosystems....Then report them and send em straight to jail!

Ok, I feel better now.

He didn't get enough in my opinion, I htink some one who totally diregards the law like that should be in bigger trouble. What if one of those peole that bought the fish released them into a community pond, kids go swiming in those and they could get hurt. I hope this send a message to other like this guy, don't do it you will get caught.

It is unlikely that anyone would be hurt by them directly. The danger would be to the environment that a new species introduced poses.

I do think $10,000 is a pretty good smack in the face. Maybe I am cheap, but unless the man has a wildly succesful business...that will hurt.

And just for the record, I am not defending him. The fine should hurt.

I agree with the others. He deserved what he got, and probably should have been punished even more than he was. I have no respect for anyone that ignores the rules set in place to conserve our environment.

Blooming Idiot. He probably could have sold those fish properly albeit taking longer to do so. Greed, greed, greed.

might of been part of a plea bargain, you just never know.

hello all i agree with everyone here and to let you know i am a sergeant in law animal enforcement fish dept. and honest with the way are judicial system works all over the states dept like ours are lucky to get a 1000.00 fine imposed on someone doing what he did and wow that is a big fine and 3 years probation here he would have been fined probably maybe a 1000.00 and a 2 year probation period if lucky well in my 11 years on the force judges and prosecuters really dont care to much about fish and it is sad for that to be that way but it happens, but it happened because of florida which doesnt play when it comes to fish, good job to those guys and gals..><}}}">

I think he should be required to locate and confiscate all the illegal fish he sold. He should also be fined the equivalent of the cost of the investigation. It probably wouldn't hurt to add a little rooming time in the local JailBar Hotel. What good are laws that have no teeth or enforcement? There needs to be clear consequences, and enforcement of them, to dissuade people from these kinds of actions.

If I had a very successful business, 10K might not scare me into changing my ways. Felony charges with Hotel time might make me think twice.
