This jellybean parrot a male or female?

it's not the cross bred thing that stresses me out. if 2 fish wanna get freaky together even if they are different species, well that's their own buisness..lol...sorry. i thought it was going to be dyed fish, like bright pink or blue. those are the ones i've seen labeled as jelly-beans. dying fish is a horrible thing. your little dude is not dyed though, thankfully.

a jellybean parrot is a cross between a male convict and a female blood parrot.

in the beginning, the only reason they were bred was to be dyed since they could be dyed at an earlier age then BP's and more of them survived the process. lately though, more and more people have wanted undyed versions, so "normal" jellybean parrots have been showing up more and more. still, undyed versions of both blood parrots and jellybeans can be hard to find in some areas.

jellybeans are not sterile and will breed as much as convicts, which is what makes some fishkeepers uneasy. they are afraid that if the fertile jellybeans get into breeder stock, they will contaminate the pure bred cichlids and their cons, red devils, etc. may not be true to their species.

so is that indeed a jellybean or a con and a jelly bean breed?? im confused and this isnt even my thread, lol.

Ok everyone, I'm now so confused at all the contradictory answers.

SO, is this a

1) Albino stunted convict cichlid

or

2) Hybrid between a true parrot cichlid and a normal convict cichlid

and is this male "fish" sterile or not?

1) YES

or

2) NO

Thanks. This would make my life alot easier cuz I want to get him a female partner.

yes its a male stunted pink convict aka albino convict as LFS have them listed LMAO and its not sterile its ferile

you have a male. they are half con half parrot. i breed these guys too. either get him a female jelly or hell breed with a convict too. basically anything a con will breed with. they breed like MAD!!
