So I added all the babies I had in QT to the 75g a few days ago. There are 4 curviceps and 2 keyholes adding to the two 3" keyholes I already had. The new baby keyholes have decided that cories are fun to pick on. This morning I noticed that one cory had an empty eyesocket...oh joy. Tonight its dead. :(

I know that cichlids will be cichlids and they don't read the information that say they are a peaceful species, but it is still frustrating. I will likely be fishing out the last four cories and putting them in my 29g. At least everyone leaves my pleco alone.

Sorry to hear that. I've not had good luck with cichlids and cories (mostly rams). I think the cories are too stupid to move out of the cichlids territory.

Cichlids for the most part won't bother your plecos, cory cats seem to be a big target for south American species I'm sorry to hear that though

I had to euthanize one of my Keyholes today he started to swim erratically upside down a few days ago so this morning he didn't look much better actually worse so i had to make a decision and Euthanize him so sad..

Sorry to hear that. I hope the two you have left stay healthy for ya.

I pulled the 4 remaining cories out today and put them in the 29g. Its not ideal since I would rather have them on sand, but its better this way. One has a torn up dorsal fin but overall they look alright.

I really wanted some nice bottom cats for my 75g so I'm a bit bummed. If it weren't for the plants I would look into a raphael cat or some pictus but I think my nice layout of crypts would be destroyed. I guess I will look for something to add up top instead. Maybe some brightly colored swordtails? IDK, just thinking outloud here. ;)

Just want to add, my larger keyholes were very accepting of all the new cichlids in the tank. Right away, the baby keyholes were swimming alongside them. There were a few nips but i am guess that was more of a pecking order thing. I haven't seen any aggression since the first day or so. The curvs were colored up nice today until I had my hands in there chasing cories.

Yeah my two Keys that i have are sticking together so i am hoping they are a pair Thanks Tay i appreciate the kindness.. Is that your Dachshund in your Avatar..

I think plecos are the kind of fish that are usually peaceful, but when you make them mad, LOOK OUT! So, IMO that's why most fish leave them alone.

Sorry to hear about that. My corys are in with rams and they are doing fine so far, i hope they don't start this.
