So it seems I can't get anywhere with POTM, so maybe you guys might be able to give some help, Whats your opinions of this photo. I know it aint the best, maybe you guys can give some help as to what may be wrong with it.

I'm guessing the fish is supposed to be the subject of the tank picture? If so, the subject should be in clear view. If the plantscape is supposed to be the subject, I would include a lot more of it. There's a lot of wasted space at the bottom of the photo with the black gravel, plus the dark color draws the eye. Overall its just not realy clear what you're trying to take a picture of. The focus and color all look fine, but there's a lot more than that that goes into a really good photograph.
Its not a bad photo it just seems to lack a clear focus. What is your goal with the photo? Is it to showcase your crypt or to get a good shot of you fish? If your aim is the fish I would zoom in more so other things in the tank aren't distracting. There is a lot going on with this photo with the moss and they roots of the crypt and the 2 fish. I like how you framed the photo with the leaves of the crypt but the fish is obstructed by the roots. Also, the blurry fish in the upper right corner is distracting and my eye keeps traveling to it, taking away from the rest of the photo.
potm is alot harder than totm. With potm as already stated its best to have a focal point and make sure its only one so the person viewing doesnt get lost in the photo.
Try and stick to one object, be it one/group fish/shrimp/snail (same species would be best) or perhaps a plant.
The 2nd step is to make sure the object is in the right location in the photograph (side/center)
Next step is ofcourse getting a clear shot. Make sure theres almost no blur and the object is as crisp as it can be. Clean the camera lens and the tank glass/ provide extra lighting and then take your photograph (more like 200 photographs)
other tip is if you are trying to take a close up photo of an object, never move your camera close to the aquarium, instead either zoom in slightly (if zooming best to have a tripod), once you zoomed in slightly take the photograph, you can always crop the imagine to get rid of the unnecessary areas..
try and take a photograph of the fish in action or in a pose thats makes one go "wow", a simple shot of a fish going for food or looking at the camera seems boring.
Also take the photo with a high mega pixel camera, it helps alot when you start cropping.

Broadly said already but my two pence...the fish are blurred, and the content is wrong for a 'planted tank shot' because it looks as if it is supposed to be the fish which are the subject.
It also isn't a particularly interesting shot. The pictures which tend to get good votes in competition tend to either show a stunning aquascape, a very detailed close up shot of a good looking fish, an aspect/angle of a fish/invert etc which you don't often see, or an unusual pose/incident.
Pictures of 'my fish in my tank' rarely cut it.

I have no idea what you want me to look at, the plants, the fish hiding, the depth of the sustrate? If you are going after a fish get him in front of a pleasant, complimentary back ground with few distractions. A turn towards you is always a great action shot. Take a lot doesn't hurt to delete photos.
