Tiger barb has ick

I'd put the tiger barb into the main tank and just treat the main tank for the ich. Leave the hospital tank barron for 4 days and it will be cured of ich (no fish starves the ich out in 4 days). Salt the main tank to cure it. The tiger barb needs to be with its pack otherwise it just becomes very stressed out and could catch secondary infections.

That's exactly what I figured and I already did. Thanks for the advice though.

All of the other tiger barbs have died from the ich unfortunately, except for one. He seems to be very stressed right now, (no visible white spots) but he hides towards the back and stays very low and doesn't move much. Could I add a few more tiger barbs to the tank at this time, to help the loner, as long as I make sure that I adjust them carefully and slowly to the salty water. Thanks.

It's pretty common for secondary infections to take hold after ich.

what are your tank parameters?

once you run thru the slat treatment cycle and cure the ich..I wouldn't ad fish until they have gone thru quantine.

you may just be re introducing ich back into the tank you just cured.

I had 3 barbs, I was gonna add more later, but I decided to make sure the ammonia levels were still all in check with the addition of new fish. Anyways, 2 of them died. This happened before ich, so it couldn't be secondary infections. The next day, the remaining barb had white spots. I immediately started treating the water. I am still treating the water as of right now since it's only been about half a week. My thinking was that if I added more barbs right now, if they were carrying ich, it would be destroyed as I'm treating the tank right now and they'd give my lone barb company.
PH - 7.8 , Ammonia - 0 , Temp - 82 deg. (during ich treatment)

Well...... now my tiger barb is gone, and I mean gone. I have no idea where he went. He was very stressed so I'm not surprised that he died, but, I'd at least think that I would see his body. Do you think that a pictus and two angels would've gotten rid of him allready?
