Tiger Barb has Popeye!

well

did it ever completly go away??? - hopefully - i was about to tell you i have never seen or heard of this disease being conquered even though there are medicines for it - i've never won that battle i tried the same stuff you've got good luck

well... i've never heard of it staying forever. Maybe what your fish has is something else? Try consulting your local exotic animal hospital... we have one here in San Diego. :D

Your doing just what you should. I've used the Maracyn 2 with great results. You have to be on top of it though. 24 hours means 24, not 23 or 25. Make sure to do the water changes and remove the carbon from your filters. Only add as much salt as needed. Remember, salt doesn't leave the tank unless you take it out, i.e. water changes. Only have about 1 tbsp. per 5 gallons max. I like to keep it around 1 tbsp. per 10 myself. Maybe up it during times like these and then don't add after the next water change. Good luck!!

IME, popeye is best cured with large water changes for several days, then subsequently keeping up with good tank husbandry & making sure your tank is not overstocked & the fish not overfed.
