Tiger barb question

Take into account that your crayfish is missing one of its big claws and is not as efficient of a hunter right now. Also, from experience danios sleep near the top of the tank away from harm's reach. If you don't mind losing a few fish here and there, maybe you could try a colony of guppies. You'll definitely end up losing some to your crayfish, but they'll breed and replenish their numbers. Also fry tend to stay near the top of the tank.
 
As a side note, Tiger barbs really get to big for a 20 gallon in my opinion. They are best kept as schools of a minimum of 6 but do better when it's 9 or more, and at nearly 3 inches a piece that's a lot of fish for a 20. IMO the cherries would be a much better fit, at least space wise.

Well I wouldn't get too hast and not utilize all that space...go out and get a standard 5 gal tank and put him in there. Maybe a 10 if you can afford it.

these crayfish need a 20 gallon they get much too large for a 5 or 10 mine hates his temporary 10.
fish i know people have had luck with
cherry barbs
fishing minnows
guppies(bc they breed fast)
african butterflyfish
golden wonder killies
zebra danios
of course not all of these and a fish might get picked off once in a while but its thw circle of life :)

I think that I will get a colony of guppies in the 20, I have 3 guppies that aren't mature yet in my 10 gallon, once they give birth in there I will transfer them and the fry to the 20.

Could I get some swordtails too?

Thanks, I just realized Rocky IS missing a claw, I thought he looked funny...

I'm pretty sure they re-grow limbs when they fall off, he should be fine.

Yeah he will get his claw back when he moults. I looked it up after seeing this topic and saw a thread where a guy said he clips the thumb part of the claw off his cray so it doesn't get fish. I don't quite know how I feel about it.
 
dont do that thats horrible. id imagin itd be really stressful and probably painful.

Thats pretty much how I imagined it. The guy talked about it like it was no big deal at all O.o
