What are good tank mates for a school of tiger barbs? Any place on the net that gives advise on what fish make good community tanks?

Other barbs would be a good bet, also any of the larger tetras, like serpae, or blackskirt they can be pretty nippy and should be able to hold their own! Assuming they are all kept in large enough schools, I have heard 7 as the magic number with barbs, although I'm not really sure why!

Personally, I have Silver dollars, Tinfoil barbs, giant danios and a rainbow shark in with my 5 tiger barbs.
