I have several ideas for a 10gal (the lady won't support me doing a 70gal Congo river setup right now..)bouncing around in my head, and one of them is an Indian River biotope.

I would like to use one Tiger Lotus as a specimen/focal point in the tank. Do you guys think I could keep a Tiger Lotus(Nymphaea zenkeri) trimmed enough so it could remain in a 10gal? I know that they can grow quite fast, but this tank will not have too much in the way of plants.

The plants would be: 1 Tiger Lotus, a few crypts, some "tree roots"/wood, and moss.

I think its a good idea, fast growing plants are like a filter unto themselves. What are you gonna be using for light?

I am going to use a 27w 6700k powercompact. If needed, I can buy a 2pin 6700k bulb and add that to the hood(tank used to be a nano reef, has nice reflector for the PC and a plug-in for a 2pin bulb as well).

banana plants get fairly large as well.
Heres mine from a while back..
