I posted this in the general Freshwater and only got responses from one person. Can i put another tiger oscar with the one I have? I was told the only way to tell their sex is venting. I dont know what venting is. Any help?

Venting is looking into the ovipositors which you cannot accomplish unless they do spawn. Females often have their ovipositors blunt in shape at the tip and should be positioned backward whereas males have pointed tip, longer and positioned almost forward.

How big is your tank? How old is your current Oscar? Has your current Oscar ever been kept with other fish/what is his temperament?

The tank i plan on moving him into is 59 gallons. He is about 4- 6 months old and like 4 inches. He is friendly to me. I hand feed him. There is a bristle nose pleco in the tank. Oscar chased him for a bit when i first got the pleco but they are fine now. There is also a very active mystery snail in his tank.

Well, it sounds like you could add another one of the same size. If... you had a bigger tank. A 55 is pretty much bare minimum for one Oscar. Two along with a pleco would be too much in a 59. I'd just stick with the one Oscar. Or get a bigger tank, say a 125, and add another one.

lol a 125 gallons would fall through my floor

I live in a second story condo with a third story loft. The tank would be in the loft area. There is not a way to reinforce the floor.
