I bought a Tiger Pleco from my LFS about three days ago. He instantly buried himself in the smallest corner of a cave in the very back of the tank and I have hardly seen him since. I have no idea if he’s eating or even alive at this point. Been over a day and a half since I last saw him. Any one got any tips on how to bring him out a little more or feed him? Any help is appreciated.

Is this tiger pleco a panaque sp.??
do you have driftwood in the tank?
if you can coax it out take a look at it and see if the stomach is sunken..sign of starvation.

If you don't have drift wood you 'll need to find some..

also many of the 'plecos' are nocturnal being more active at night or in low light.

if you are unsure of the species try looking at Planetcatfish.

to be honest, I don't know exactly which type he may be. he has a spiny armor to him and he sucks really hard to the rocks in my tank and has lots of stripes all over.

I have some driftwood being sent in the mail as we speak for him to eat. In the mean time, I've been trying algae wafers, shrimp pellets, and flake food. He doesn't seem interested so far. Maybe he's eating at night though, I hope so.

Ok I looked it up, you are correct Star Rider. it most certainly looks like its from the panaque species. Apparently, he really needs that driftwood I ordered.
